If You Can’t Write Your Own Comment, Don’t Bloody Bother!!

This goes along with the cheeky bugger who stole one of my posts and posted at his blog while expecting a pingback.

Now I’ve got some intelligence-challenged thief (and that’s an insult to other intelligence-challenged thieves) copying a prior comment made by someone else word for word and leaving it as their own comment.

Funny how the intelligence challenged thief didn’t even have the brains to change the country (Germany) discussed in the original comment to their own country (Egypt).

Funny how the intelligence challenged thief wanted a link back to a absolute nonsense site with no real content (and that site has nothing to do with Safeway, grocery shopping, carts, or anything else mentioned in my post).

The original comment left by the person living in Germany:

WOW – your post just made me learn something new. As far as I am aware – in Germany there is not a single store which provides that kind of service you are describing. You load your own cart and also drive it outside to your car. See why we are called a desert of service?

Copy and paste is a wonderful thing, but it’s really not cool to steal somebody’s else work and try to pass it off as your own.

In fact, stealing someone else’s work is called plagiarism and is grounds in most schools and publishing circles for lawsuits *publishing circles*, public shaming *publishing circles*, flunking out *most schools*, public humiliation *remember Oprah Winfrey’s public denunciation of James Frey* and other not so nice things.

I can’t flunk this person out for being an intelligence-challenged thief and I can’t really sue her either but I certainly can publicly humiliate and denounce her.

Fellow Word Press bloggers–and probably other bloggers–need to watch out for Emily from Egypt who is promoting happyrain.org

  1. Thank you for this! I am the real Emily, but this happyrain.org spammer stole my email address and has been posting everywhere with fake IP’s. This is so frustrating. He/she/the bot is wasting everyone’s time, especially mine.

Godaddy.com (happyrain’s server) told me it could take weeks to get this stopped, and even then they may not have “proof” that happyrain is doing the spamming and not me.

Right now I am doing google searches for “Emily Happyrain.org” in order to collect screenshots of comments to aid godaddy. If you want to help, can you e-mail abuse@godaddy.com? They said that complaints from site moderators go further than complaints from a victim. Go figure.

  2. Thanks for posting this.

I recently got a comment on my blog from this Emily person, the comment sounded sincere but I’m still hesitant from approving it.

I really can’t tell at the moment – I guess it will need to just sit there.

  3. This behavior appears to be the work of a bot. I recently had several suspicious comments show up on my own blog – suspicious because they were direct copies of my own comment replies! Lately I’ve started googling the text of ‘possibly legitimate’ comments to see if they are actually bot-produced.
